Welcome to Whitestown House Estate

Historic demense in the heart of North Dublin. Not far from the city & 20 minutes from the airport

Here we host long-table dinner parties, garden get-togethers, woodland picnics, music evenings, cooking classes and private meetings and more.

The Whitestown Estate dates back to the 1600s, when purchased for twelve pounds in 1641 by the Earl of Ormonde. It consisted of 120 acres, three roods and ten perches. What makes Whitestown remarkable in County Dublin is that the demense has remained intact to this day.

The current house was built in the 1840s by Sandham Symes, chief architect to the Royal Dublin Society. His eye for detail is visible in the proportions of the rooms and the wonderful stonework at Whitestown.

The Keogh family purchased the estate in 1996 and began the journey to lovingly restore it, starting with the outbuildings and gate lodges. Almost 4,000 trees were planted on the property. Whitestown House has a storied history of hospitality, having been almost burned to the ground during the civil war because of the “tennis parties and dances” there were held here for officers.

The Keogh family love to entertain and Whitestown House is at its best when filled with people and laughter. While you may arrive as strangers we hope that when you depart it will be as friends.
